Classic Bluewater - Deadly in WA!

The new Bluewater F18 proves "devastating" in the Pilbara region
The below email was received from one of our many satified Classic Bluewater customers. His words speak volumes for just how effective the Classic Bluewater F18 really is. "Just a bit more positive feedback on the Bluewater F18 lures: Hi, my name is Simon. I'm currently based at the Dampier Peninsular, in the Pilbara area of Western Australia. Every sunday for the last 12 months I have been involved in a fishing trip to various spots around this area. As we predominantely troll or cast lures, we are constantly on the lookout for lures with a good action that will withstand an absolute hiding from amongst other things ,monster mackerel that just love taking lures and not giving them back, or if they do you are left with bent hooks, busted bibs etc! It seemed like a certain Laser Pro was the only thing that would hang in there. That was until a couple of weeks ago when a handful of the latest Bluewater F18 lures turned up at the local tackle shop. As soon as I saw them, I said to my mate - " I bet these will do some damage!" He agreed and we bought the whole lot of them. They just happened to be the chrome blue and purple one ,which we named "the hologram". Wicked looking lure! The next morning we found out just how wicked these lures are. We motored out to one of our normally reasonably productive spots and started a troll at about 5.5 knots. Not even a minute passed and we had a double hookup on 15kg+ Spanish Mackerel. Fluke you reckon? We were bagged out within 1 hour. Still flukey? During the next 6 hours we caught and released no less than 2 dozen spaniards up to 15kg each, with the exception of another (of many) double hookups on two monster macks that would have gone over 30kg - if the 2.5 and 3m sharks chasing them had not beat us. We were fishing in a different area by then, but the results were still the same. Devastating! Anyway, if you still don't believe me ,listen to what happened next. Down to one "hologram" only (thanks to the sharks), we decided to run it up against Laser Pro's best - which by far is the 190DD in the chrome pink (trust me, we have tested them all!). Anyway, not only did the F18 outfish it 2 to 1, it picked up a 20kg Yellowfin and a 10kg Bluefin Tuna to boot! We were thinking by then that this must have been a purple patch, but as the next few Sundays would show, this was no flash in the pan. I should know because my mate had the last surviving F18 ( as it took another 2 weeks for the next lot of stock to come in) and still whipped me every trip until I restocked on F18s. And yet again you wouldn't believe it, within 15 minutes of hanging this lure over the side - absolutely annihilated by another monster mack! Back to my last lure again! Thank god I have been on leave back in Perth for the last week. They'd be sick to death of us buying everything as it comes into the shop! The other colours are quite productive, but nothing like that evil blue and purple thing! So there is some positive feedback from us up here in the Pilbara on just how good these lures are. Regards, Simon Harris p.s. - we have now placed a bulk order in for these critters!" The photos to the left show a few of the fish that Simon refers to in his email. With results like that, who can argue? We'd like to thank Simon for taking the time to write in and tell us of his success, and invite anyone else with a similar story to share to write in as well (see "Contact Us" link at the top of this page). P.S. The lure colour Simon is talking about in his email is Colour B2 - Psycho Mackerel. A deadly pattern indeed! [...more]

NT Mackerel

Spanish Mackerel off the Vernon Islands
We recently received this photo (left) from Chris Errity of N.T. Fisheries. He was trolling the new Classic Bluewater F18 +15 around the Vernon Islands and reports that he "cleaned up on some good macks!", including this 15kg beauty. The successful colour in this instance was B8 - Red Head. Another classic example of the Bluewater F18 working its magic. [...more]

W.A. Wahoo

Classic Bluewater F18 in Christmas Island
The photos shown to the left were sent to us by a very experienced angler fishing the 'big-fish' waters around Christmas Island off the coast of W.A. Over the past couple of months he has been testing the new Classic Bluewater F18 on the local Wahoo population. A few of his comments are shown below: "A bit more on the Bluewater F18 - About 2 hours of trolling jetheads and other minnows had produced no strikes so on the way home I decided to give the redhead F18 a speed test. I set the lure about 20m back and gradually increased the speed. I'd only gone about 300m and was watching the speed reading on the GPS and it was on 19.8kph when this wahoo hit. I popped the lure back out again and was able to run it at up to 24kph with it still running true. Very impressive. That was the first wahoo I had seen for a week so it's not as if there were plenty of them around." "I have them sussed now and the go is to troll them at about 12 knots. I've been catching some real hooters on them as you can see. Got a big one on the gold F18 this morning, I've already lost the redhead and the yellowfin" As you can see from his photos and comments, the Wahoo of Christmas Island have certainly taken a liking to the Bluewater F18's. Try them out on your local waters today! [...more]
